Airport 05:42
sleep, broken eardrums don’t be scared -- we combed the airport no matter where you are i see myself come off the floor, but it won’t fly go and tick one off for real love no matter where, tell me where you see yourself and i’ll touch down anywhere no more lonely airports -- you’ll see
2.
Morning Dove 03:30
show me where you hide your rose in the forest tell me how you grow your grapes because i am just a lonely boy in your chorus my hands were made to hold your waist could i release you like a morning dove? could i release you like a morning dove? god knows these things we make hard enough could i release you like a morning dove? i will wait for the right conditions, i will wait for the right time i will monitor your position in the shadow of your limelight in the middle of NYC, in a minute you’ll forget me in the midst of rising stars, mine is mine and yours is yours
3.
like veterans of foreign wars, we are not who we were before you scratch my back and i’ll scratch yours, but not until i’ve had my fill there were days when i felt like a paper cutout of myself in a housefire and i confess, all the rest, i’ve been clinging with wet hands to the live wires avoiding sleep if i seal my lips i seal my fate, and pour cement on sorry states no one here appreciates a good idea, i’ll disappear chorus i don’t wanna die in my hometown just let the salty sea sweep me out i don’t wanna die in my hometown and bury my bones in your holy ground mad hatter, what’s the matter? your thoughts are all scattered cold-blooded carbonized kids carving-knife calling-card kiss
4.
Lights Out 04:45
in the mirror i’m admiring my good side you know, the one i only turn to your blind eye am i high or low? wouldn’t it be nice to know my high hopes for you and i aren’t paralyzed hold my tongue or just bite it off i know it’s all the same to you you don’t need to sleep by yourself now periscope down and lights out you save a space for me to crawl in edgewise but i hesitate and let it go to waste now i’m wide awake and dying to make one mistake and by the way, i know you’re cold but i was told to hold my tongue or just bite it off i know it’s all the same to you you don’t need to sleep by yourself now periscope down and lights out
5.
turn back the weeks to understand what once was stone would turn to rubble in your hands and i built cathedrals at your feet whose broken melodies would lull me back to sleep our small hearts cannot contain this rumors are contagious little lies i knew i could love you by your voice and sooner than later we would never have a choice postcards for peace no one reads pile up and block the exits crumble like dead leaves fast forward to the part where we’re both alone
6.
stay home and mind your business black cats are only witches waiting for a crossing of paths my darling aries, ruling over all our planetary woes don’t butt your head with mine now that i know the difference between swimming to dry land and getting lazy feet wet in the second story bath airwaves obey my speaking i’m getting by, i’m eking out a living of my own and i’m taking calls, i’m pinning up sepia toned pictures of places i would like very much to see now that i know the difference between swimming to dry land and getting lazy feet wet in the second story bath i could sleep for years now that i know the difference between swimming to dry land and getting lazy feet wet in the second story bath one second, one second, one second, one second on second thought i miss everyone i knew – everyone, that is, but two: the melancholy mystic me, and the ordinary you
7.
Buy Time 03:55
this might be a lie: if i had your kind of money i’d buy time through minefields of eyes you’d run take cover and hide we take chances, no second guesses sister, no lie, we both know you were right this might be a lie: if i had your kind of money i’d buy time through melting glacial ice you once moved with a grace undying
8.
go on draw me a sun, tree, and house sing to me a symphony in half tones tell me your tattletale unknown knowns these lives have put our eyes to waste goodnight sunlight, don’t you try goodnight sunlight, don’t you try to pull the wool over my eyes show me your ticket to the moon before we are lost at sea once more i wait in silence on the island of the day before why must i always be at a loss for words
9.
The Woods 04:31
shot out in the dark where our hearts learn sadness after love prying eyes that burn through the reeds at her naked body in the dark where you turn me in your arms stop, because i stare at only you and i’ve one more question how could this backfire? shot out in the dark would your father kill the man you love? i could climb your stairs as the reeds whisper softly underneath the stars
10.
who devised this bright new machine? one of you self-styled inventor types, bursting on the scene he’s an upstart, a looney, with a heart of cogs and gears we don’t like surprises here with your car parked in my spot you can call me frail but i’m not, full stop your car parked in my spot i don’t need this today is there no place to lie next to suburban sprawls, as your new tradition shuffles in with funeral shawls? show the meaning of this reckless need to pave your own predictable way because i predict you’ll infiltrate with your car parked in my spot you can call me frail but i’m not, full stop your car parked in my spot i don’t need this today
11.
Pioneers 04:47
they crossed the sea with flags they were born to be adventurous men of their time and men of arrogance men out of line and marching all at once they will not make lies of us they have not seen the last of us our hibernation is over, love send your sons to die all will be forgiven once history is a white lie where land and sea collide we meet our would-be torturers be not unkind, and be not quick to trust their rights divine are surely poisonous

a high rise, i try to enjoy the view of towers that sway side to side it’s high time that i let the sun inside to slice through the dust in the room but oh, when you arrive, don’t read me my rights — i’ve done nothing the birds fly to skyscraper suicides the birds fly to skyscraper suicides a full choir of kitchen appliances chime me a lullaby tune i just might hide in the broom closet, mining the floorboards for clues but oh, when you arrive, don’t read me my rights — i’ve done nothing the birds fly to skyscraper suicides, spiraling gracefully down, down but i spy my own reflection, and just in time and all night, the wind in the marketplace wanders as stock prices climb what kind of prisms were over our eyes that what’s backwards seems true? but oh, when you arrive, don’t read me my rights — i’ve done nothing the birds fly to skyscraper suicides, spiraling gracefully down, down but i spy my own reflection, and just in time we stepped on the cracks, we can’t get it back we stepped on the cracks, we can’t get it back we stepped on the cracks, we can’t get it back but tell me it all will be alright, alright promise we aren’t all uptight, uptight tell me it all will be alright, alright promise we aren’t all uptight, uptight well we all fly to skyscraper suicides we all fly to skyscraper suicides we’re all uptight, uptight

"#1 Connecticut Album of 2011" ~Eric Danton (The Hartford Advocate)
"Grammy worthy" (I Am Entertainment Magazine)
"Local, indie or major label, this is easily one of the best albums of 2011. Clearly a band to look out for…" (Wesleyan Radio WESU 88.1FM)

Indie-pop outfit Echo and Drake recruited some major names [including Jeff Lipton (Bon Iver, Arcade Fire, Wilco / Jeff Tweedy, Andrew Bird, Spoon)] to turn Sundrenched Elsewhere into a breakout album. It paid off in spades. Recorded with the microphone wizards at Telefunken Studios, and mixed by Joseph Donovan (who won a Juno Award — the Canadian equivalent of the Grammies), Sundrenched Elsewhere is loaded with epic reverb and killer falsettos. ~Dan Barry, The Hartford Advocate
